2024 DRIVERS RULE BOOK

Section D1: Eligibility
D1.1 Drivers must have an active iRacing membership and hold a minimum
Class D 3.0 Oval license.

D1.1.1 There is no license minimum for events at twisty-turny goofball tracks.
D1.2 Drivers must abide by rules governing Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice.
( See Section D6 )
D1.3 Drivers must have a steady internet connection and computer capable of running the iRacing service without causing adverse effects to the other competitors.
D1.4 Drivers must be in good standing with XCAL and not blacklisted, suspended, or owe fines. ( See Section D2 )
D1.5 Drivers must be entered into events by an XCAL Car # Owner.
D1.6 Drivers are encouraged to use our Discord Server which will have dedicated channels for open chat, and individual channels for each team. https://discord.gg/xcalracing
Section D2: Penalties
D2.1 Any driver who deliberately causes damage to another driver’s car through intentional contact will be DISQUALIFIED from the remainder of that heat or feature. Infraction will be reviewed by RACECONTROL, and judgment is final and un-appealable. Drivers DISQUALIFIED for intentional contact will will receive +200 Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice laps. ( See Section D6 )
D2.1.1 Drivers who cause damage to another car after the checkered flag through intentional, or severe negligence will be penalized with an EOL and one strike in the next Feature event, and +100 Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice laps.

D2.2 Any driver who deliberately causes damage to another driver’s car through intentional contact a second time during the same race week as their first infraction will be ineligible for competition for a minimum of 3 events. Appeals must be received by XCAL within 48 hours from the end of that week's feature event. Appeals must be emailed to President@xcalracing.com with subject line "Penalty Appeal" and be received no later than 48 hours after notification of penalty being posted.
D2.3 XCAL has adopted a “two strikes - you're out” policy when dealing with on track incidents that draw a caution. All cautions will be reviewed to determine the nature and severity of the incident. XCAL understands the rubbing is racing, and some incidents simply can't be avoided. However, incidents that CAN be avoided or cause unnecessary extensive damage to one or more cars will be penalized.
D2.3.1 Incidents that incur a ONE STRIKE penalty include, but may not be limited to; being the cause of an accident, driving in an absurdly aggressive manner, brake checking (during race or under caution), hitting another car under caution, not paying attention to the cars around you (drifting into another drivers lane), or self-spins.
D2.3.2 The first strike incurred by a driver for an infraction outlined in rule D2.3.1 is penalized with an EOL on the next restart during Heats. For this infraction during Features, a black flag will be issued and +100 Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice laps.

D2.3.3 The second strike incurred by a driver for an infraction outlined in rule D2.3.1 is penalized with disqualification and +200 Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice laps.

D2.3.3.1 If a driver is attempting to serve an XCAL issued black flag, and another caution comes out (Not caused by the driver serving the black), the black flag will be cleared and the driver will instead receive an E.O.L. Penalty on the next restart. Drivers must notify RACECONTROL if this happens to them, as the event staff will be busy attending to the current yellow. This does NOT excuse a driver from completing PMMP laps!
D2.3.3.2 ANY RULE INFRACTION COMMITTED AFTER A DRIVER IS DISQUALIFIED WILL RESULT IN THE DRIVER BEING REMOVED FROM THE SERVER, AND WILL LIKELY RESULT IN FUTURE DISQUALIFICATION FROM EVENTS AND OTHER PENALTIES AND / OR FINES TO BE DETERMINED BY THE OWNER OF XCAL RACING.
D2.4 Incidents that can draw a caution but DO NOT incur a ONE STRIKE penalty include, but may not be limited to, causing an accident that does not cause the contacted driver to lose a position, or any incident RACECONTROL can not determine who was at fault. In this situation all drivers involved in the initial incident will receive an EOL on the next restart.
D2.5 During Heat races and Feature events drivers may communicate with each other on a single channel on the radio called “ARTYPARTY”. Drivers speaking to each other over an open channel other than “ARTYPARTY” will have their chat muted. Drivers with their chat muted may find themselves at a major disadvantage during the event. ( See rule D2.3.3.1 ) THIS RULE IS PENDING FOR 2024 - AND HAS NOT YET BEEN FINALIZED.
D2.5A Drivers may speak on open channels only to reach RACECONTROL. This may include asking for review of an accident that may have been initially missed, or to report other important information. It is important that at least one driver mic up at two to green to inform RACECONTROL that we are in fact two to green. If no driver mics up before the pace truck reaches the back stretch the entire field will be subjected to 100 Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice laps. ( See Section D6) THIS RULE IS PENDING FOR 2024 - AND HAS NOT YET BEEN FINALIZED.
D2.5.1 Drivers that relay false or misleading information to RACECONTROL will have their chat muted and may incur additional penalties up to and including disqualification. This can include, but is not limited to: reporting pace car location improperly, reporting an accident that did not occur, or the wrong location of a crash, or reporting a car as “blinking” when it is completely visible to RACECONTROL.
D2.5.2 Drivers are not permitted to ask RACECONTROL “why” a call was made, or argue any case during a live event. Violations of this rule will result in chat being muted.
D2.5.3 Drivers who ask for a meatball black flag to be cleared, will be notified that RACECONTROL does not clear iRacing issued black flags.
D2.6 Code of Conduct: The on track behavior of all XCAL drivers dictates the quality of future new members that enter our organization. If we are known as a bunch of “wreckers”, “self spinners” or “hosted session ruiners” the iRacing community will remember. XCAL wants its member base to expand, not shrink. A large professionally run event with a high car count attracts more sponsorship opportunity and creates a better product on and off the track. Therefore, all XCAL rules outlined in sections D2.1 – D2.2, D2.5.1 and D2.8 apply to every XCAL Driver competing in ANY hosted session, league race, and official iRacing session.
D2.6.1 XCAL will review any complaint levied against a Driver as long as a replay of the infraction is attached when submitted, and XCAL receives the complaint within 48 hours of the alleged rule infraction.
D2.6.2 XCAL rule D2.6 is null and void when XCAL members participate in league and hosted sessions described as “demolition racing”, “enduro”, “no holds barred”, “boys have at it”, “2 Lap Sprints” or any other format in which contact between cars is allowed and / or encouraged.
D2.6.3 XCAL Drivers found committing rule infractions outlined in D2.6 will serve the applicable penalties in the next FEATURE event held in the 2023 XCAL Racing Web Shop Series, or Dash Series, or BOTH Street Stock Series. This can include event disqualification(s), or PMMP.
D2.7 Drivers who qualify in a heat with the incorrect car number will receive the last transfer spot in their heat. If a Driver enters a Feature event with the wrong car number, that number will be docked 25 owners points, and driver will receive +100 Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice laps. ( See Section D6 )

D2.7A Drivers who are using the Trading Paints software must use the correct car # for the event they are entered into, and may not have double stamped #'s or other confusing identification markings. Drivers who make our broadcast look goofy will receive +100 Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice laps. ( See Section D6 )
D2.7.1 A Driver that enters more than one heat with the wrong car number will be disqualified from every heat they enter until they correct the issue, and receive +200 Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice laps per infraction.

D2.8 Drivers are not to have profanity written or visualized on their car, and may not have lewd images or graphic graphics of any sort. XCAL staff will review all paint schemes. Members in violation of this rule MAY receive a warning, and risk automatic disqualification. Drivers disqualified for this infraction will receive +200 Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice laps. ( See Section D6 )
D2.8.1 The displayed number on the car MUST BE VISIBLE, and of a contrasting color to the body work it resides on. Violations of this rule will result in escalating penalties up to and including event disqualification.

D2.8.2 Drivers are required to run the contingency decal pack for the car # they are driving to be eligible for any prize or purse money that is in addition to the event's entry fees.
D2.9 Live broadcast events will feature post race interviews and may include pre-race and mid-race interviews as well. These interviews must be treated with care. Members that use vulgar language may have their chat muted in current and future events, be skipped on future interviews and may incur fines.
D2.9.1 Do not 'thank' fake sponsors. There are plenty of people that make this happen for real.
D2.10 “Junk to the line” XCAL Heats and Features always finish under green. In the event the caution is displayed any time there is 10 laps to go or less, Drivers should obey the live commands of RACECONTROL. Results displayed by iRacing will be unofficial until the end of the event is reviewed by the XCAL President.
D2.10.1 All incidents in the last 10 laps will be reviewed by RACECONTROL regardless to if it would have caused a caution or not. Drivers found to have committed a rule infraction will be penalized by placing them last among finishers on the same lap. Additionally, car #'s may be docked owners points if the adversely affected driver lost more than 5 positions. PMMP may be issued to a driver causing an incident in the final 10 laps. ( See Section D6 )
D2.10.2 If a driver is found to be at fault for a last lap incident, but the car they immediately and initially affected does not lose more than 5 positions due to the incident, no penalty or strike shall be issued.

D2.10.2.1 Contact between cars that are not racing for position OR on the same lap is NOT protected by the general provisions of rule D2.10.2 and may be penalized as per all other applicable rules.

D2.10.2.2 Any contact that results from a car leaving the racing surface (driving on the: apron, grass, dirt, gravel, dirt mounds, or sewer grates on any track that does not have a specific rule allowing it, OR any other area deemed inappropriate by XCAL Racing) is NOT protected by the general provisions of rule D2.10.2 and may be penalized as per all other applicable rules.
D2.10.3 If RACECONTROL can not determine the cause of an incident in the final 10 laps, ( 'racing deal' ) no penalty will be issued to any car #.
D2.10.4 No driver will be penalized in the last 10 laps for making a valid attempt to dodge a crash, that causes another incident to ensue. If RACECONTROL determines a driver was driving recklessly and not simply avoiding a crash, penalties will be issued as stated in the rules in section D2.10.1
D2.11 For penalties involving Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice see
D2.12 Drivers who receive a post race penalty arising from a protest may be penalized in the time frame of the current event, or the next Feature, whichever is more appropriate.
D2.13 Drivers that are having issues with connection ( blinking, warping, flashing, etc. ) will be given an audio warning, a final warning, and then be issued a black flag if the connection does not stabilize in a timely manner.
Section D3: Money
D3.1 Drivers are not responsible for entry fees, or incident point penalties. It is the Car # Owner's duty to pay all fees and penalties associated with each event.
D3.1.1 Drivers may occur fines in addition to those issued to Car # Owners for extremely egregious actions.
D3.2 All race winnings, points, and Owners Championship winnings are accredited to the Car # Owner.
D3.2.1 Any agreements made between a Car # Owner and a Driver are not enforceable by XCAL Racing, and it is up to Car # Owners to uphold those agreements completely on their own.
D3.3 The 2024 All Star Event features cash prizes to be awarded to the Drivers deemed eligible to compete.
D3.3.1 Special events, non-points events, and other series sponsored by XCAL Racing may offer cash prizes to individual drivers.
Section D5:
Race Week Structure
D5.1 OPEN PRACTICE for drivers Sunday from Noon to Midnight. Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice laps ( See Section D6 ) must be completed in these sessions ONLY. Fuel caps will be set to the appropriate level for the XCAL Racing Web Shop Series. Dash Series drivers please take note of this!
D5.1.1 Each practice session will conclude with a short race, laps in the race do not count toward Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice - with the exception of 'Plate races'. ( See section D6.2 )
D5.1.2 REMOVED FOR 2024
D5.2 Qualifying Heat Races Monday at 5:00pm, 7:45pm, 8:30pm, and 9:15pm U.S. Eastern.
D5.3 Drivers meeting in the discord at 7:00pm-ish. XCAL staff will be available to answer any last minute questions, and review any track specific rules that pertain to the event. ( See Section D12 )
D5.4 Feature Event Tuesday at 7:30pm. Session goes live at 7:30pm and will have 30 minutes of warm up. Feature events need no passwords as they are manually grid by XCAL Racing.
Section D6:
PMMP Specifics
D6.1 Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice: Any driver(s) that are required to complete Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice must do so in an official XCAL Racing Web Shop Series Practice Session. The exact number of laps required of Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice for each driver or Car # will be listed in the www.XCALRACING.com website Practice Schedule under 'This Week's Events'. Laps turned in the 'Race' portion of the practice DO NOT count toward this total!
( See Section D5.1 for Official Practice times. )
Rule D6.1 only applies to 'non-plate' events.
D6.1.1 Drivers who do not complete 100% of their required lap total as listed in rule 6.1 will be ineligible to participate in the current week's Heat Races and may not attempt to qualify a car #. If entered into the feature they will start with an EOL on grid, one of two strikes toward disqualification, and the Car # Owner will automatically receive 1 Owner's Strike at the end of the event. Car #'s with a driver that is in violation of rule 6.1 can not earn any bonus points towards the Owner's Championship in that event.

D6.1.1A Drivers in violation of rule D6.1.1 will have their PMMP laps cleared after the completion of the event.

D6.1.1B Drivers who have their PMMP cleared as stated in rule D6.1.1A will incur a +50% increase to all PMMP requirements in future events, recurring!

D6.2 'Plate Race' Penalty Mandatory Minimum Practice: Drivers who are required to complete PMMP for a 'plate race' must participate in and complete 80% of the laps in at least 2 of the practice races that will occur at the end of each XCAL Racing official practice OR complete at least one lap in 4 of the different practice races.
D6.2.1 Drivers that do not complete this requirement will be ineligible to participate in the current week's Heat Races and may not attempt to qualify a car #. If entered into the feature they will start with an EOL on grid, one of two strikes toward disqualification, and the Car # Owner will automatically receive 1 Owner's Strike at the end of the event. Car #'s with a driver that is in violation of rule 6.1 can not earn any bonus points towards the Owner's Championship in that event.

D6.2.1A Drivers who are deemed ineligible due to a violation of rule D6.2.1 will have their PMMP laps cleared after the completion of the event.

D6.2.1B Drivers who have their PMMP cleared as stated in rule D6.2.1A will incur a +50% increase to all PMMP requirements in future events, recurring!

D6.2.1C Additional PMMP earned in the current week's event is not cleared in this situation!
D6.3 Any human hosting a practice labeled as "Official XCAL Practice" without the consent of the XCAL Racing President is subject to penalty ranging from being yelled at, to blacklisting depending on the number of people screwed over.
D6.4 Official XCAL practices are open to the public without passwords. This is our opportunity to grow our driver base. All XCAL regulars should welcome potential new additions, direct them to the website, and our broadcasts on our video page.
D6.5 REMOVED FOR 2024.

D6.6 Practices will have a variety of weather settings, and may not reflect the actual weather occurring for Heats and Feature Events.
Section D7
Qualifying Specifics:
D7.1 The first 3 events of 2024 will be grid entirely by heat race finishing position of car #'s, sorted by fastest lap times. Additional ties are scored in favor of the driver in the car # completing the lap time first. Any additional provisional grid spots will be filled with next highest finishing heat race positions per fastest lap time.
D7.2 Heat race grid is based on a 15 minute open qualifying session.
D7.3 All available pit stalls will be used at all tracks. We will NOT use shared pit stalls at any track in 2024.
D7.4 After the conclusion of the first 3 events the top 15 car #'s in the current owners points are locked into the field each week. If the grid is full at the completion of Heat #4, no additional entries will be accepted. This can include
car #'s that were supposed to be 'locked in' via Top 15 points.
D7.4.1 Drivers in car #'s locked in via points may still attempt to qualify in heat races to achieve a better starting position.
D7.4.2 Car #'s locked in via points that fail to qualify, or do not attempt to qualify in heat races, will grid directly behind all cars that qualified in heat races, sorted by points position.
D7.4.3 If car #'s from the top 15 in points qualify in heat races, additional provisional entries will become available.
D7.4.4 Starting with the 4th event Provisional Entries will be issued according to owners championship points until the grid is filled. These car #'s will grid directly behind drivers in the top 15 who did not qualify in heat races.
D7.5 Car #'s that do not attempt to qualify in the heats MAY be given a Provisional Entry IF there are grid spots available after the conclusion of the last heat. Once the grid is full no additional entries will be accepted.
D7.5.1 “Attempt to qualify in the heats” is defined as completing at least one lap in one of the heat races for that week's feature.
D7.6 Once a Driver has qualified ANY car #, they MAY NOT attempt to qualify again during the event weekend!
D7.7 The amount of top finishing cars taken from heats will vary each week, as different tracks have different pit stall totals.
D7.8 Cars #'s or Drivers taking penalties will grid behind all locked in and provisional entry cars.
D7.8.1 Multiple car #'s or Drivers taking the same penalties will be sorted by owners points.
D7.8.2 Multiple car #'s or Drivers taking different penalties will be sorted by time since penalty was issued, most recent penalty grids last.

D7.9 Any driver substitutions after a car # has qualified will result in the substitute driver and car # being grid from the tail of the field, ahead of any cars taking penalties.
Section D8:
Weekly Race Procedures
D8.1 Warm up is 7:30 PM to 8:00 PM. This is not the time to be screwing around. Our live broadcasts will beginning during this time and pre-race driver interviews may be taking place. Only get on the track for serious warm up. Do not pile into crashes. If you crash, do your best to get out of the way. Drive cars back to the pits. Do not exit on track unless its the only safe way to get off the track. From this point forward we need our events to look as professional as possible.
8.2 Grid is at 8:00 PM. RACECONTROL may take a moment to yell a few procedures at the field at this time. Drivers have 1 minute to grid for features.
D8.3 We will NOT issue EOL Penalties at the start of heats or features. If you do not want to start from your assigned grid position you may start from the pits. XCAL will not correct any scoring errors caused by iRacing in this situation.
D8.4 Initial Start and all restarts are on the leader with the exception
of 'plate races' and any race at the Chicago Street Circuit.
D8.4.1 Initial Start and all restarts in 'plate races' and any race at the Chicago Street Circuit are on the flagman.
D8.4.2 If either of the front row cars attempts to start or restart the race before the flagman in a 'plate race' or any race at the Chicago Street Circuit they will be black flagged.

D8.4.3 If the pole sitter does not take the grid for any reason, the corresponding lane of cars will move forward one row. In this situation NO Driver has control of the start, and the start will be controlled by the FLAGMAN. This applies to both Heat Races and Feature events.
D8.5 Once the pace car is off the track, leader must maintain pace speed within 4 mph of the pace car speed. Dropping / accelerating / adjusting speed in any manner 5 mph or more before restarting will result in a black flag.
D8.5.1 Outside line cars on ovals may accelerate slightly more to maintain the correct formation, but may not pass the leader until the green flag waves.

D8.6B Due to random scoring issues there will be NO lane selection for the 2024 season, on any track. In situations where the entire field is restarting single file, ALL cars should travel in the outside lane when crossing the line to go back to green.
D8.7 The pace car must have all four tires off the racing surface before the leader starts or restarts the race.
D8.7.1 In situations the pace car is still on the track and the flagman displays the green, no penalties will be issued to the front row cars, and the race is officially started or restarted.
D8.8 If RACECONTROL verbally calls off a restart, the yellow will be displayed as soon as possible and extended until the field is lined up properly.
D8.9 RACECONTROL may announce a speedway has a designated restart zone. The leader may not accelerate more than 4 mph before hitting the start of the restart zone. Accelerating 5 mph or more before the start of the zone will result in a black flag.
D8.10 No driver may pass another car in their lane, or change lanes before the start finish line. This includes long lines of single file cars.
D8.10.1 A driver found to be in violation of rule 8.10 may be warned, or black flagged depending on the advantage gained determined by RACECONTROL.
D8.11 Drivers may not hang back, and must maintain a ¾ car length or less distance behind the car in front of them once RACECONTROL announces “one to green” or by the final turn on tracks with one opening pace lap.
D8.12 Drivers who experience a major mechanical malfunction may pull out of line for safety reasons. Missing a shift is NOT a reason to step out of line, or a reason to pass a car. If a lane gets held up by a slow starting car, drivers must maintain their lane until the starting line.
D8.13 Passing Flag will only be displayed at road courses. If you are being shown that flag, maintain the line you have been running. Do not make evasive maneuvers. The over taking cars are much faster and will find a way around without your “help”.
D8.14 If the leaders are lapping you on ovals, do not make evasive maneuvers.
D8.15 Drivers on the tail end of the lead lap, and 1 lap down may race the lead lap cars to attempt to get laps back. Once a car is 2 laps down or more they are expected to yield to lead lap cars in the top 10.
D8.16 Cautions will be thrown by RACECONTROL only. These may be for an accident, or a predetermined and announced competition caution, or to try to correct a scoring error.
D8.16.1 If a car is stopped or deemed to be out of control on the racing surface with approaching traffic, a caution may be thrown.
D8.16.2 If a car is out of the racing groove with a fair amount of space to get corrected, no caution will be displayed.
D8.16.3 If RACECONTROL determines a driver did not make an effort to move their car from the racing line in a timely manner, that car may be penalized even if it was the victim of the initial incident.
D8.16.4 If a car is blocking pit road entrance or exit, the caution may be displayed at the discretion of RACECONTROL.
D8.17 Incidents that bring out a caution will be reviewed by RACECONTROL.

D8.18 While pacing, drivers must leave the outermost lane of the race track open for wave around cars. Incidents that ensue will be the fault of the pacing car, not the wave around car, and will result in a black flag.
D8.19 Drivers should remain single file until RACECONTROL announces
“one to green”.
D8.20 When lining up, pass cars on the outside ALWAYS. If you need to let someone by, stay LOW. If you pass on the inside and someone decides to pit, causing car contact, you will be black flagged.
D8.20.1 The only exception to rules D8.18 and D8.20 are on race tracks where the pit road is on the outside of the speedway. At those tracks we do the exact opposite of those rules in terms of leaving lanes open and passing to
line up.
D8.21 There are no wave arounds in heat races. All penalties issued by RACECONTROL for incidents that brought out a yellow shall occur on the initial
'two to green'.
D8.22 We will allow iRacing to release cars trapped behind the pace car at one to green. If iRacing refuses to release those cars, too bad. Always obey what the display is telling you.
D8.23 There will be wave arounds during cautions in feature events. Black flags for penalties will be issued on the initial 'two to green' and any disqualification penalties will be issued immediately.
D8.23.1 Drivers eligible for the XCAL Wave around will be the first 3 car #s in standings 1 lap down or more when we reach the initial 'two to green'. NOT at the time of the caution.
D8.24 Once the leader hits 10 laps to go, XCAL will not throw any more cautions and there are no more wave arounds if a caution does somehow come out. All incidents will be reviewed. ( See Section D2.10 )
D8.25 When the caution is displayed and drivers have made it all the way to the pit entrance, and the pace car has still not caught the field, it is permissible for the leader to STOP the field.
D8.25.1 If the leader needs to STOP the pacing field they must announce their intent to do so to RACECONTROL. Give a fair amount of warning. Other drivers may relay information about where the pace car currently is.
D8.26 Event end. Once drivers take the checkered flag they should do one additional lap around the speedway to lock in their incident points. Incident points iRacing scores after the checkered flag still count. Drivers in the top 3 should stop their cars on front straight AFTER completing the cool down lap, with leader in victory lane where applicable.
D8.26.1 Drivers who did not finish in the top 3 have two choices. They may SAFELY return their cars to their pit stall or meet in the per-designated post race demo derby area if applicable. Do not just smash your car into something or someone after the event, or stop and exit on track. Drivers who ruin our live broadcasts by looking like idiots will receive progressive discipline up to and including disqualification from future events and fines.
D8.27 Drivers finishing in the top 3 will be interviewed for our live broadcasts. You must be in the XCAL Racing discord to be eligible for interview.
D8.28 If you finish in the top 3, please mind all other cars completing their cool down lap, or heading to the demo derby area before doing any burn outs or celebrations.
D8.29 Post race demo derby, if applicable. Time to get revenge. Drivers wishing to compete in the demo derby need to meet in the pre-determined demo derby area after completing their cool down lap.
D8.29.1 We will count down and start the demo derby after the 3 podium cars complete interviews. Those drivers may enter to the demo area after their interview if they want to compete.
D8.29.2 Demo Derbies may feature additional prizes, so drivers found trying to “start it early” may get removed from the demo or disqualified from future demos.
D8.29.3 Drivers must stay in the demo area during the derby, and may not go for “arena shots” from outside the demo area. Violators will be removed from the demo and / or disqualified from future demos.
D8.29.4 Drivers who get “turtled” may ask for help.

D8.29.6 The last car still moving under its own power, and making hits is the winner.

D8.30 XCAL has a one car per lane policy. When making a pass, you must not be in the same lane as the car you are trying to pass. Additionally, in situations where the rules state you can not pass below a specific line, you can not attempt a pass on the inside when the lead car is occupying the bottom lane. This is generally only penalizable if an accident ensues.
D8.31 Post race argument. After the race jump in the discord to bitch, moan, complain, and swear you'll never run another event if THIS or THAT doesn't change. See you next week!
Section D9: Car Setups
D9.1 All oval events on tracks less than 1.5 miles, and all road events are open setup. There are currently no limitations to what you can do with your car as long as it passes iRacing tech inspection.
D9.2 Events on ovals 1.5 miles in length or greater are “plate races”. All drivers will be required to use the same setup, provided by XCAL, for any plate race.

Section D10: Discord Server
D10.1 The '2024 Drivers' discord role is bestowed upon a single driver for the entire season. Once a driver is given this role by a car # owner, it can not be transferred!

D10.1.1 Drivers who leave the XCAL discord will LOSE their '2024 Drivers' role. A driver may purchase a NEW '2024 Drivers' role if they return.

D11.1 The top 20 Drivers in the MVD Rankings will be eligible for the All Star Event in 2024.
D11.2 2024 XCAL Racing Web Shop Series Feature Event winning, and pole winning Drivers who are not in the top 20 in the MVD Rankings are also eligible.

D11.2.1 If the original Pole Sitter as listed on the event grid does not actually start on pole for ANY reason (penalty, substitution, failure to connect, starts from pits etc.) they are still the pole award winner and become the eligible driver for the All Star Event at the conclusion of that event. No other driver becomes eligible for the All Star Event via pole award in this situation.

D11.3 Two ineligible Drivers will be voted in to the event via a poll set up on the www.xcalracing.com website.
D11.4 The All Star Open will run on the Monday preceding the All Star Event. Prior season feature event winners, and all drivers who are listed in the MVD Rankings that are not already in the All Star Event, are eligible for the All Star Open.
D11.5 Only the winner of the All Star Open advances to the All Star Event.
D11.6 The All Star Event is a non-points event and will feature cash prizes.

D12.34.5.2 If you make forceful contact that sends a car below the white line as defined in D12.34.5.4 you must surrender the bottom lane and move up the race track as soon as it is safe to do so.
D12.34.5.3 Drivers who force a driver below the white line are liable for any accidents that ensue from the contact per the penalties outlined in this rule book.
D12.34.5.4 'Forcing' a driver below the line occurs when a car in the second lane from the bottom makes contact with a car running the bottom lane, knocking it below the line. If a driver is running the bottom lane and someone attempts to pass them on the apron, or in the same lane, contact between cars is not a 'force', it is an ass-hat trying to pass where we do not allow it.

D12.34.8 There is no pit road speed limit under green flag conditions.

D12.34.8.1 No pit road speed limit begins after 10 laps are completed under green on the initial start, or any restart.

D12.34.8.2 Any driver who passes through pit road under green must come to a complete stop in a pit box before exiting pit road.
D12.34.8.3 A driver may not finish the event by using the pitlane as a short cut.
D12.34.8.4 Warm up and qualifying sessions, as well as any laps run under caution will have a pit road speed limit that must be obeyed.​
D12.35 Chicago Street Course - 2023 Cup Edition – Open setup track.
D12.35.1 Fuel Cap: 50%​​

D12.35.4 All starts and restarts at this track are on FLAGMAN.

D12.35.5 Events held at this speedway will feature a single competition caution that will be displayed after the leader completes the first half of the event.
Section D13:
Event Contingency Plans
D13.1 In the event 1/4 or more of the field completely drops from the server at the same time (within 2-3 laps), the caution will be displayed for "iAbductions".
D13.1.1 When the leaders take the "one to green" command, RACECONTROL will announce that the event has been RED FLAGGED for "iAbductions" and the leader is to bring the field to a slow and safe stop at the end of the back straight.
D13.1.2 75% of affected drivers must reconnect to the event before the event can be restarted.
D13.1.3 Drivers will NOT receive wave arounds during cautions for "iAbductions".
D13.1.4 Drivers disconnected will NOT receive wave arounds for laps lost during "iAbductions".
D13.1.5 If after 15 minutes 75% of the "iAbducted" drivers have not been returned, the event will halted for the remainder of the night.
D13.1.6 If 50% or greater of the official laps have been completed at the time of the RED flag, after 15 minutes the event is considered official.
D13.1.7 If less than 50% of the official laps have been completed, the event is a 'iblackout', and the field will be re-grid, and the event re-run on the first available off week. Any laps led, or other points, prizes, or compensation from the event purse will be null and void. We will do a complete reset and act as if the event never started.
D13.2 In the event the primary flagman of RACECONTROL gets disconnected/does not or cannot connect, from/to the server a non participating XCAL Official or turn marshal may throw a caution for "debris".
D13.2.1 There are no wave arounds when a caution for "debris" is thrown.
D13.2.2 A caution for "debris" may be extended up to 5 laps while the primary flagman reconnects to the server.
D13.2.3 If after 5 laps of extension the primary flagman has still not reconnected a senior official or turn marshal that is not competing may declare a RED flag condition for technical difficulties, "iAbduction" or some other bullshit excuse.
D13.2.4 Once a RED flag is declared the leader should bring the field to a stop at the end of the back stretch.
D13.2.5 If after 20 minutes of RED flag conditions the primary flagman cannot reconnect, the event will be halted for the evening.
D13.2.6 If 50% or greater of the official laps have been completed at the time of the RED flag, after 20 minutes the event is considered official.
D13.2.7 If less than 50% of the official laps have been completed, the event is a 'iblackout', and the field will be re-grid, and the event re-run on the first available off week. Any laps led, or other points, prizes, or compensation from the event purse will be null and void. We will do a complete reset and act as if the event never started.
D13.3 If the heat races are unable to be hosted by the President or Senior Staff of XCAL Racing the feature event will grid by Car # Owners points.
D13.3.1 In the event 1 or more heat races are completed, but others are unable to be launched/completed the results from the completed heat will stand per the predetermined amount of transfer cars. The rest of the field will grid by Car # Owners Points.
